How do you relax?
Relaxing is an art, and I have many different ways depending on the stress I’ve been under.
Reading is one of my first choices as a way to relax and take my mind off the world. When the tale is good I can get lost between the pages for hours!
If my creative bug is active I choose either quilting or writing. There’s something so similar between these activities. Piles of colorful scraps can become the most beautiful gift for someone. And unscrambling the words in my head into something inspirational for the benefit of others brings me joy.
And then there are lazy Saturdays when the pjs stay on all day and we spend the day watching movies.
One thing I’ve learned in my 61 years of life is that finding a way to turn off the craziness and stress of the world is extremely important. God created a day of rest intentionally, and I am very grateful for that blessing.
I can relate. Saturdays are always “do what I want” days.” I can work, sleep, eat, wear my jammies all day.

I love this! You’re so right—rest is a gift from God, not something we should feel guilty about. Reading and quilting sound like such peaceful ways to reset.
