Thank You, Jesus

Our Maundy Thursday service last night was so simple and yet so powerful! No sermon, only the reading of scripture, Lord’s Supper, and a few old hymns sung a cappella interspersed. John 3-18:11 read aloud.

The impact of reflecting on Jesus’ last night with the disciples and His message to them, His prayer of hope and love for them – and us, and His last words to Peter – “Put the word into the sheath; the cup which the Father has given me, shall I not drink it? (John 18:11) is still resonating with me this morning.

The chorus of the song Thank You Jesus For The Blood by Charity Gayle keeps playing in my head.

What a gift He gave, what grace and love in that sacrifice. Thank You, Jesus! May I always live according to Your Word.
